Project Objectives
Create a piece which uses the material it is made from to convey its message
Artist Statement
Due to my training as a painter, when faced with this project prompt, I immediately began thinking of creating a painting. In essence, the idea was that a painting is created from layering paints on top of one another, and in a fit of inspiration, I realized that this process is much the same for creating a cheeseburger. As such, I created the image of a burger from burger ingredients. The result is something akin to a Matryoshka doll, where the ingredients to make the burger are contained within the image of the burger, which in turn appears to made of those very same ingredients.
